Turkish Airlines Becomes World’s Largest Network Carrier – Airways Magazine

DALLAS – Turkish Airlines (TK) set historic records in July and August, with the flag carrier increasing its seat capacity by 14%.

According to the monthly passenger traffic results, the company carried 7.8 million passengers each month, surpassing its pre-pandemic record for the number of passengers on a monthly basis. The airlines announced the feat this week, at a time when global airline companies are striving to achieve 2019 figures.

Ethereum Merge makes network more vulnerable to attack – Security expert

The security expert said that while PoS isn’t “theoretically” as secure as PoW, he admits it still has “sufficient practical security.”

Despite the Ethereum Merge being linked as a major upgrade to the blockchain network, its transition to proof-of-stake theoretically makes it more vulnerable to exploit.

Speaking to Cointelegraph, the security researcher explained that unlike proof-of-work (PoW) systems, a proof-of-stake (PoS) system informs node validators in advance what blocks they will validate, thus enabling them to plan attacks.

The security expert, who asked not to be named, is a blockchain developer and security researcher working on a proof-of-stake layer-2 blockchain.

Uber investigating cybersecurity incident after hacker breaches its internal network • TechCrunch

Uber confirmed on Thursday that it’s responding to a cybersecurity incident after reports claimed a hacker had breached its internal network.

The ride-hailing giant discovered the breach on Thursday and has taken several of its internal communications and engineering systems offline while it investigates the incident, according to a report by The New York Times, which broke the news of the breach.

Uber said in a statement given to TechCrunch that it’s investigating a cybersecurity incident and is in contact with law enforcement officials, but declined to answer additional questions.
